Part 1: Derivation of E = mc2

The subject of this post is the derivation of E = mc2. Science uses theories to predict physical behavior. As a result we need to understand the difference between good and bad theories. A good theory is one in which it’s prediction is confirmed by observed data. The mass-energy (E=mc2) equation is a good theory but the challenge is to describe it in laymen terms.
